Introducing: Wercker!

Oct 11, 2012

“As a big believer in Open Source, Mozilla’s accelerator was a logical decision for us; not only do we support open source projects through our platform, Wercker is built using various open source libraries and tools; all the way from the operating system, up to its front end code that powers our user interface.

So what is Wercker? Wercker is a continuous deployment Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that helps developers reduce risk and eliminate waste in their software development process by enabling them to test and deploy their code often, in a hassle-free way. In short, we’re building an integral platform for how software gets deployed on the internet and the cloud.

We came up with Wercker to scratch our own itch; at our previous place of work, we’d been looking for an easy to use hosted continuous deployment platform. It didn’t exist, so we went ahead and started building it ourselves from our homes in Amsterdam.

Over time we’ve expanded our team. What started out as a two-man operation for my cofounder Wouter and myself has now turned into a five-person team with Benno focusing on developing the platform stack, Jacco focusing more on interaction plus front end, and finally Lindsey who just joined and is responsible for the look and feel of Wercker.

Team Wercker is looking forward to accelerating our progress even more in the coming months!”
