Two days ago we announced our next class of 7 teams, aka “WebFWD II”, and promised to let the founders share more about their businesses.
Today we are kicking off a series of 7 blog posts on our teams - featuring them in alphabetical order, starting with our first team:
“codebender is a web platform which aims to supercharge and expand the maker movement, by providing great tools for hackers, makers and artists, with an emphasis on Arduino development. Inspired by the passion and ideals of the open source the diy movements, and combining the two, the maker movement is a new but expanding movement with an emphasis on modification (hacking) of existing technologies and inventing new, interesting concepts. It focuses on applying our skills creatively and learning new ones every day, by experimenting and exchanging knowledge.
codebender aims to promote this knowledge exchange, by providing a great development and collaboration tools for makers and hardware hackers, with an emphasis on the Arduino platform, which is the de-facto platform of choice for the electronics part in any construction. It is the perfect platform for new users, who can take advantage of the easy-to-use development tools to start coding straight away, universities and teachers who teach Arduino courses and need to collaborate with their students, and advanced users who can manage their vast codebase, libraries and dependencies with ease.”— Vasilis Georgitzikis, Founder
