Today we’re very pleased to announce the rollout of our brand new website and some exciting changes to the WebFWD program.

Some context….

WebFWD was born in the summer of 2011 with two teams and a vision for sustaining open source startups via coaching and access to technical and professional resources.

During our first 8 months we grew to 14 teams with members in 5 countries. We built a significant library of resources and roster of world-class partners. As the program has grown, we’ve come to believe that teams would benefit even more from an intensive curriculum, supported by coached, focused development and culminating in a graduation event.

Today we are kicking off a new, 12-week program for open innovation:

  • 8 weeks of focused, interactive learning. Weekly topics will go deep on Strategy, User Research, User Experience, Business Planning, Law, User Acquisition and Community Building.
  • Office hours with industry experts.
  • Ongoing coaching, collaboration and access to Mozilla experts and thought leaders.
  • A graduation event in September, where our teams will share the progress they’ve made and be eligible for follow-on funding from Mozilla.

Why are we making these changes?

Our goal is to support and strengthen our core mission: to help open source innovators create businesses to change the world. If you are one of those innovators and are interested in working with us, we encourage you to read more about our program and apply for our next class. The fall session starts in October and we’re accepting applications now.

Let’s change the world together!
